Once a teen receives a ticket, he/she goes before a Justice of the Peace or Municipal Judge and pleads guilty or no contest to his/her offense. The teen can request to go to teen court and his/her case will be heard by a panel of teen jurors which decides how many hours of community service the defendant will do. The case is then assigned to a teen defense attorney who will represent him or her.
